Some days ago we started out on our dream holiday to the famous Italian island Sardegna. We ordered both the stay at the resort and the ferry tickets during the last Christmas holiday!
If you don’t order the ferry tickets really early, you might need to book a flight! We wanted to go by car and maybe drive a bit around to see the island.
We had a long break in Bordighera on the way to the ferry, since it left from Nice in the evening. Here we met all the closest relatives of Luca, and we had a nice lunch together. After a swim in the wavy sea, it was time to leave Italy.
When we arrived on the harbour we met some pirates! They were making a bit of a show, and chose me as their star!
After having those scary sticks flying in front of my nose, we had a nice yogurt ice cream. I also took some photos of the harbour.
Then, finally around 9 in the evening, we could start to drive into the boat.
It was all ready getting dark, and the view from the ferry was stunning. You could see all the lights from the beach promenade of Nice.
Finally on board we could explore the big boat. You could see people going to bed all over the place! They had brought big mattresses and sleeping bags to spend the night either in the saloons, the halls or out on deck.
We were traveling as luxury tourists in the end… With our own cabin that included both window and bathroom, we felt like a royal family 🙂 We also had a nice dinner and breakfast on board. The travel lasted until 11 the next morning.
Finally we could drive towards our dream holiday resort: Horsecountry! But the funny part is that we had arrived on the other side of the island. We had actually forgotten that we were supposed to arrive in Olbia… It’s a 2,5 hours drive from there to Arborea, and you need to drive across the whole island.
So we decided to look at the nearest beach while we were in the area. But it was windy and the sea was full of black algae. It wasn’t tempting to take a bath, so after discovering two different beaches near Budoni, we just jumped in the car to reach the final destination.
